Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to: • Identify normal and abnormal ultrasound findings of musculoskeletal anatomy • When appropriate, utilize ultrasound in the performance of musculoskeletal procedures • Identify appropriate clinical situations to perform diagnostic ultrasound scans and certain ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal procedures.

Greg Wilde, MD
Course Co-Instructor Musculoskeletal Radiology Director at Lenox Hill Radiology. Dr. Wilde is a memberr of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), the American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM). He is a reviewer for the American Journal of Roentgenology (AJR) and Skeletal Radiology. He is a member of the Ultrasound Practice Accrediation Council for the AIUM. He is the lecturer for Pegasus Lectures “MSK Ultrasound” online course. |
Jon A. Jacobson, MD FACR is a board-certified musculoskeletal radiologist. His educational background includes radiology residency at Henry Ford Hospital and musculoskeletal fellowship at the University of California at San Diego. After working for 23 years at the University of Michigan as Division Director and Professor of Radiology, and then at the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Jacobson currently works at Lenox Hill Radiology in New York City and University of California, San Diego. Dr. Jacobson’s research interests include musculoskeletal ultrasound and MRI. His academic achievements include over 250 peer-reviewed publications and many invited national and international lectures or workshops. Dr. Jacobson has been a visiting professor on over 50 occasions, is President-elect of the Society of Skeletal Radiology, and has received numerous teaching and mentoring awards, including the 2023 Distinguished Educator Award (American Roentgen Ray Society). He is also the author of the textbook “Fundamentals of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound,” which is now in its third edition. Dr. Jacobson’s curriculum vitae and information about his musculoskeletal ultrasound global outreach efforts in Uganda can be found at www.jacobsonmskus.com.
Dr. Frank Nguyen, DO, FAAPMR, CAQSM, RMSK is dual board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation as well as Sports Medicine. Dr. Nguyen completed his fellowship in Sports Medicine at SUNY Downstate and his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Stanford University. He specializes in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders utilizing non-surgical techniques including diagnostic and interventional ultrasound. He practices in Brooklyn at the Maimonides Bone & Joint Center.
Tanya Shilagani. Dr. Shilagani is a Long Island native (moved here from India in 1998). She graduated from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor in Science and from Long Island University with a Masters in Science. She received her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, followed by Internship at Stony Brook University and Radiology residency at Westchester Medical Center. She then completed one year of Musculoskeletal Imaging and Intervention fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston and received most of her ultrasound imaging and intervention training in residency and further improved her skills at Brigham while working with Dr. Luis Beltran (formerly attending at NYU). She also attended an advanced MSK ultrasound training provided by Phillips during her final year of residency.

Andrea Coras: Andrea has been an ultrasound technologist for 10 years. She currently works at Lenox hill radiology as a registered Musculoskeletal sonographer and has been performing MSK diagnostic ultrasounds for 4 years.
Ewa Piekut, registered MSK technologist since 2014 working at Lenox Hill Radiology for the last 13 years.
